100 years 100 movie songs


id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5552809864435856354" />O ‘American Film Institute’ (AFI) revelou as canções de filmes de todos os tempos no ‘AFI's 100 Years...100 Songs: America's Greatest Movie Music’, evento televisivo especial de três horas, apresentado em 2004 por John Travolta, um representante natural para os 100 anos de música do cinema norte-americano. Ele mesmo que além de ter contribuído com seus movimentos de dança que foram sucesso nas discotecas, aparece na lista com o filme ‘Saturday Night Fever’ e cantando com Olivia Newton-John em ‘Summer Nights’ do filme ‘Grease’ que concorreu ao Oscar de melhor canção ficando com o 70º lugar na lista encabeçada pela imortal ‘Over the Rainbow’ interpretada pelo ícone Judy Garland do eterno ‘The Wizard of Oz’. Judy Garland tem cinco menções na lista, Julie Andrews e Barbra Streisand empataram em segundo lugar, com quatro menções cada. Três músicas na lista foram sucesso na voz de Frank Sinatra: ‘New York, New York’, ‘Luck Be a Lady’ e ‘The Way You Look Tonight’. Apenas quatro músicas de filmes de animação aparecem na lista, e todas elas foram feitas pela Disney.

Os jurados convidados, nas escolhas das músicas deveriam considerar alguns critérios: o filme deveria ser em formato de narrativa, normalmente mais de 60 minutos de duração; ser no idioma Inglês com elementos significativos de produção criativa e/ou financeira dos Estados Unidos; a música e letra deveriam expressar os temas do filme de uma forma que elevasse a arte da imagem em movimento; as canções poderiam ter sido escritas e/ou gravadas especialmente para o filme ou previamente escritas e/ou gravadas e selecionadas pelo cineasta para atingir o objetivo anterior; a música deveria ter conquistado o coração da nação, ecoado para além das paredes de uma sala de cinema e ser automaticamente associada ao filme em si e finalmente, canções que ecoaram por todo o século, enriquecendo o patrimônio do cinema e dos artistas americanos e cativando o público até os dias de hoje. A cada ano, o programa transmitiu uma classificação em comemoração ao centenário do AFI. Essa foi a sétima de uma série. A cada ano foi desencadeada uma discussão nacional da história da sétima arte entre os amantes do cinema.

‘As Time Goes By’ é uma das mais belas canções já compostas para um filme. E ‘Casablanca’ é mais que um filme, é a renúncia ao amor, que está em desvantagem devido ao tempo transcorrido, à situação adversa e aos hábitos adquiridos na longa solidão.
